Polly Moller 

 

     Polly Moller performs, composes, improvises, and creates performance art.  Since 1995, she has recorded three solo albums and performed in diverse venues across the Bay Area and elsewhere  Her recent performances have included a Late-Night Cabaret at the National Flute Association's annual convention, plus concerts at the Big Sur Experimental Music
Festival, and the Woodstockhausen Festival. Her gateway performance art workshop has been presented at the Flute Festival Mid-South and the Madison Area Flute Festival.  Polly Moller has been awarded grants by the American Composers Forum Subito Program, the American Composers Forum Community Partners Program, and the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. Her recordings have been released on Albany Records, Pax Recordings, Mindspore Records, and Silver Wheel Music. She is currently recording her fourth album of original work,Not Made of Stone.  In January 2007, the Womantis Ensemble will premiere "Genesis", Polly's new work for twelve performers and a conductor.

 

Elizabeth Gaston 

 

     Elizabeth Baptista-Gaston has performed as a solo artist and chamber musician in the San Francisco area. Last month, she won first place in the adult level of the Arizona Flute Competition in Phoenix, and was a soloist with the San Francisco Concerto Orchestra. She will be the guest performer at the Keowee Chamber Music Festival in Asheville, NC, in June, 2007. At Flute Fest, Gaston will be performing Kokopeli, about which J. Barlett wrote in the Pacifica Tribune:  "Gaston weaving a pattern of lovely phrasing and sophisticated technique, let the mood of the music frame her embouchure, sliding through notes, bending into phrases, climbing over sandstone cliffs through flutter and slur. Her palette of music was full, meditative. Gaston on flute stirred and mesmerized with her warm, ethereal touch.Elizabeth plays on a modern wooden flute.
