An accomplished flutist, Lady Jeanne Galway has performed as a soloist with the world’s leading symphonies
and orchestras including Chicago, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Denver and National Symphony Orchestras to name a few. She has
graced the stages of the world’s cultural capitals, with appearances in cities such as London, Vienna, Budapest, Munich, Zurich, Basel,
Venice, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore.
In a recent tour of Japan, Lady Galway appeared in a
private performance in the presence of the Empress of Japan. She has also played before HRH Prince Edward at Buckingham Palace, with
the London Mozart Players at St. James’ Palace and for the Queen of Norway with the Bergen Philharmonic. In May, she performed at
The Vatican and Windsor Castle.
Lady Galway is also a respected chamber musician and part of the acclaimed chamber music trio Zephyr (with
pianist Jonathan Feldman and cellist Darrett Adkins). The group’s first recording, Zephyr – Winds of Romance, includes works by Haydn,
Martinu and Weber. The trio recently premiered a new work by Lowell Liebermann, which Sir James had commissioned as a Christmas present
for his wife. Lady Galway continues to collaborate in recital with Phillip Moll and a varied array of ensembles, including guitarist
Christian Hoffstettler, soprano Yuko Takemichi and the New York based Cassatt String Quartet.

appears regularly as the premiere Flute Duo Partner with her husband Sir James Galway. The two delight audiences and bring a rare
freshness to the platform, unequaled in the music world. Highlights of the upcoming 2006/2007 season include an U.S. recital and orchestral
performance tour traveling to cities including Phoenix, Santa Fe, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, New York and Washington, D.C. This season
will also find Lady Galway leading master classes and performing in Salzburg, Austria; Interlaken, Switzerland; Dublin, Ireland; Trento,
Italy, and London.
In conjunction with her touring schedule, Lady Galway can be heard performing with
her husband Sir James Galway and harpist Catrin Finch on the album My Magic Flute to be released by Deutsche Grammophon on September
15th. The album is a Mozart extravaganza, in which the three top virtuosos unveil beautiful sound and breathtaking technique. Recorded
with the Sinfonia Varsovia, My Magic Flute includes a new version of Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp, plus all-new arrangements
of some of Mozart’s most popular instrumental and vocal compositions. Other tracks on the album are the famous Rondo alla Turca, Ruhe
sanft mein holdes Leben from Zaide and the Andante from the Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major, devised and specially arranged for two
solo flutes and orchestra by David Overton.
Lady Galway’s previous recordings with Sir James and Phillip
Moll, Music for My Friends, has received notable acclaim, as has her recording of the Cimarosa Concerto for Two Flutes with Sir James
Galway and the London Mozart Players. Lady Galway can also be heard on tracks from the 2004 Deutsche Gramophone album, Wings of Song.
Lady Galway is renowned for her dedication to the development of young flutists. As Vice President of Flutewise, an educational organization
for young flute players, she conducts Flutewise Master Classes, has recorded two flute tutor methods and released a new CD for Flutewise
with Phillip Moll. Along with her husband, she serves as a patron to the charity “Future Talent” headed by the Duchess of Kent. Lady
Galway also writes many educational articles and is currently compiling a series of books to be published by Theodore Presser. Her
versatile concert engagements include performances for fundraising events for UNICEF, SOS, FARA and Flutewise.
A native of New York and graduate of the New York City’s Mannes Collage of Music, Lady Galway lives with her husband, Sir James, in
Meggen, Switzerland.
